Garden

We have a wonderful space in our yard for a garden for the children. We believe that nutrition is an important part of the child’s environment. The staff and children decide what to plant each year. The children will plant, water and care for the plants during the growing season. When the fruit and vegetables are ripe, the children help harvest and wash the items. The fruit and vegetables can be as part of our snacks and lunch, but mostly the children enjoy washing them and eating them straight from the garden. We have grown a variety of foods in the past such as watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, carrots, corn, green beans, lettuce, and squash.
